You get muscle strains & ligament strains, but have you ever considered what happens to your underlying organs and nervous system? The energy from injury can be absorbed by the body and manifest in subtle ways. Feeling off?
I am trained to palpate the body’s “living anatomy” (i.e. flow of fluids, motion and texture of tissues, and structural makeup), and to apply manual treatment where needed. This treatment is a non-invasive approach to healing that works by restoring normal structure and function to areas impaired by trauma, disease, systemic disorders etc. Techniques include visceral, neural, and myofascial mobilization. as well as craniosacral & neuromuscular therapy and manual lymph drainage. Osteopathy emphasizes the interrelationships of structure, function, and the inherent wisdom of the body to heal itself.
I work with newborns with birth trauma through the elderly with dementia. Invest in yourself – schedule therapy today.
I am a CA Certified Massage and Bodywork Therapist, with over 20 years of clinical experience in treating soft tissue dysfunction and pain. I offer a full-body system of hands-on techniques to alleviate pain, restore function, and promote health and well-being. There is only one bottom line in healthcare-the needs of patients and their families. I chose osteopathic manual therapy because of my passion for understanding the whole being and because of a strong desire to see the positive results of my efforts. My goal is to deliver the best possible therapy. Healthcare/medicine is, however, a combination of art and science, and I avoid a “cookie cutter” approach, dealing with each patient individually and responding to the best of my ability to the unique nature of each person’s problem.
I have taught anatomy, physiology, kinesiology, and pathology at Wake Technical Community College and the Medical Arts Massage School as well as similar seminars for yoga enthusiast in the Raleigh, NC area. I am a teaching assistant for the osteopathic Upledger, Barral, and Chikly Health Institutes.
I first encountered bodywork after dealing with migraines for eight years with standard medicine. With bodywork the migraines were gone within two months and have never come back. This experience with soft tissue healing started me on a path to where I am today moving from St. John Neuromuscular Therapy through osteopathic CranioSacral Therapy & Visceral / Neuromeningeal Manipulation into Brain Techniques. My background is in science with a BS in Mineral Engineering Physics from Colorado School of Mines and a MS in Computational Mathematics from the University of Colorado at Denver. I worked in research at Colorado School of Mines and consulted with private industry.
My skills:
Organ/tissue specific precise gentle manual therapy for complex issues to alleviate pain, restore function, and promote health and well-being.
